Feb. 3, 2015 3 Days at Henderson State Park Destin Florida

This stop was a change in our plans.  By choice.  We are getting braver when it comes to pulling out our "plug" and water line and moving on.  So little time, so much to see. :)

Instead of a week at the next stop, Ft. Pickens, we chose to camp here for 3 days, then move on.  I got a chance to visit a friend from home, have not seen her in about 15 years.  We got caught up over lunch in the Lark yesterday.  Cerenna brought me a special gift. A small spice jar to fill with Destin Beach sand.  Wouldn't you know we both collect sand from every beach!  I told her this was the best whitest sand I have every seen. She says I need to get to the Bahamas and capture  some Pink!  If you ever need a good Realtor in this area:  Cerenna Solecki  Broker/Owner

Tip for our RV road friends.  Henderson is pricey for a Florida State Park ($30.00night), however, it is a beautiful park, great sites and the beach is spectacular.  Our site 41 is really nice and 40 is a huge pull through...both very private!  I know, it is right across from the entrance to the Walmart...however, when you are in the park you will never notice the proximity to the  "beach strip".

Military planes, jets, copters all will make their presence known. Inside information tells us when there is bombing practice going on everything shakes. How nice.  Huge Air Force bases surround this spit of land.

Our electronic board readings went a rye yesterday.  We were getting readings for our grey and black water tanks that could not be accurate as we "dumped" on arrival. Hmm....Hit the internet and my page of "Glamping in the Lark" www.Pinterest.com for answers.  I use Pinterest for my rolling file of info.  Seems the indicators of levels in tanks are very cheap (we should expect this to happen)   and unreliable (thanks Forest River ForestRiver.com for spending the extra couple of bucks for good ones on such a large investment item as a motor home).  There is a solution: cleaning with Dawn Dishsoap and Calgon water softener. Walmart for supplies.
